The Maqomo tour

Code: STHM Duration: Roughly 8 Hours Departs: Amatola Museum - King Williams Town - (or other centers by prior arrangement) Featuring: Maqomo's Great Place Battle of Amalinda Fort Beaufort Waterkloof

1-Day:
We depart from King Wm's Town and visit the site of the Battle of Amalinda.where Maqomo distinguished himself as a fighter. Next we head for places of interest in the Fort Beaufort and Healdtown area. We also visit his favorite stronghold during time of war - the Waterkloof.

Later we pay a visit to Post Retief and places of interest in the former Kat River Settlement area. Returning via the Chumie Valley we see where his father Ngqika had his great Place. Finally we head for and Fort Hare before making our last stop at Knapp's Hope Mission near to which Maqomo had his Great Place.
