This cultural package tour can be enjoyed in one of two ways: either staying over each night at a Xhosa homestead or alternatively in a selected B&B in King William's Town.
Day1:
Visit Mgwali village and a former mission station begun by Rev. Tiyo Sogo. Visit a local sangoma and Xhosa crafters.
Day2:
We visit Fort Hare University and Lovedale, where many of Africa's leaders received their education, as well as Fort Cox where war once raged.
Day3:
Visit Maqomo's Den, the scenically spectacular mountain hideout of a famous Xhosa Chief and warrior.
Day4:
Enjoy a day's hike up the Wolf River with its waterfalls, cascades, pools and magical forest.
Day5:
We travel to a game reserve and enjoy game viewing, explore old forts from frontier war times and visit a village lost in time.
Day6:
Explore the Pirie Forest, hike to a mountain cave where Chief Sandile hid from the British during the 9th Frontier War and visit the sacred mountain of Thaba ka Ndoda.
